Project
Summary

The seminar aimed to empower youth workers by promoting a healthy mindset and lifestyle as tools for improving critical and analytical thinking in youthwork. It provided an international space for sharing experiences, building competences, and fostering intercultural learning through non-formal education. The ultimate goal was to strengthen inclusion, solidarity, and wellbeing among young people and their communities across Europe.

This project was designed to promote Non-Formal Learning through which representatives of the partner organisations shared personal and professional experiences, contributed based on their competences, worked collaboratively irrespective of background, and developed a programme that met the following objectives:

Objective 1: Fostered international cooperation between experienced and less experienced organisations and individuals, as well as among youth workers who aimed to promote healthy lifestyle and wellbeing to youths and their communities.

Objective 2: Developed projects that left an efficient impact for the next Erasmus period on the topic of social inclusion and intercultural learning.

Objective 3: Enhanced the skills and competences of youth workers for improving solidarity and social awareness.

Objective 4: Strengthened the competences of youth workers to design their own sessions and work on an international level of trainings based on social inclusion.

The project also met International, EU, and Erasmus+ objectives because it:

  • encouraged the participation of youth workers, especially those with fewer opportunities,

  • ensured a safe and pleasant non-formal learning environment,

  • promoted the development of:

    • learning outcomes and improvement of basic key competences,

    • practices for intercultural learning, equity, and social inclusion,

    • a project created by youth workers for youths and their communities.

The seminar took place in Cyprus, hosted by NECI EU, and successfully achieved the following objectives:

  • Increased awareness of the positive impact of a healthy mindset and Non-Formal Education through inclusive practices for personal and professional growth.

  • Developed youth workers’ “learning to learn” competence, with the main aim of influencing youths and local communities in creating opportunities for wellbeing and social inclusion.

  • Offered a safe and educational space for learning by sharing among all participants, regardless of skills or background, and promoted non-formal learning based on inclusive practices.

  • Explored and deepened understanding of the power of intercultural learning and dialogue for tackling global challenges.

  • Created both tangible and intangible results that sustain the project’s impact

''Being my first seminar, I had no idea what to expect or how to prepare myself. I just knew that I am going to a partner that I know and trust and I just believed in the process. Like every time, I was not disappointed. I met an amazing group of people with different levels of experience and different expertise so watching their teaching style and how different it is was a true inspiration and a realization that the beauty stays in the differences. I attended their workshops with enthuziasm and eager to learn. We approached different areas of critical thinking and different dimensions where a youngster can apply it and that really made me understand even more how actual is this topic and how much it can make a difference into a youngers life.

Even if it was just a 4 days experience, I've learned a lot of new methods, new approaches and I have developed my network. I already started to plan my next sessions using the methods that I have learned here and I leave this place more entuziast and sure that our work matters more than we can imagine. A big thank you to our amazing organizers who made this possible and who always keep the standard so high.

'Till next time,''
